Dr. Laura Rampil

Dr. Rampil is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM/now NYITCOM), where she was selected for a yearlong teaching and clinical fellowship in Osteopathic Principle and Practice. She then completed her internship year as chief intern, followed by a residency in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY. She then split her time as a teaching staff physician at the residency she graduated from while she was in private practice on Wall Street in NYC.

In 1997, Dr. Rampil started a private practice in Orlando, FL and continues providing care for multiple generations of patients. In 2002, Dr. Rampil became founding program director of the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Integrated Family Practice residency at East Orlando Florida Hospital, now Advent Health Hospital. Integrating the Neuromusculoskeletal residency into the long-standing Family Practice residency, she created a 4-year integrated residency program. The structure has changed but the residency continues today and Dr. Rampil continues to share her knowledge with the residents and medical students.

Dr. Rampil has been training in regenerative medicines since 2006 through various professional organizations including the AAOM, AAO, IFO, and AOAPRM. She was the first in Orlando to use Pure PRP (platelet-rich plasma) which is neutrophil poor PRP. This is now the standard of care and achieves the best growth of ligaments and tendons and the least cartilage damage. Over the years, Dr. Rampil has incorporated many various methods of regenerative medicine including using traditional Prolotherapy (Dextrose), serum concentrate or scaffolding, and low dose dextrose for nerve pain. There are additional types of injections including trigger point injections, and Neural therapy (scar injections). Dr. Rampil uses musculoskeletal ultrasound to help diagnose and inject in addition to her extraordinary palpatory skills.

Dr. Rampil mentors and clinically educates pre-medical, medical students, and residents from around the country. She is proud that many former residents are professors and administrators at many Osteopathic colleges around the country.

Dr. Rampil is excited to be part of the New Osteopathic Medical School in Orlando. She decided to maintain her full-time practice and teach in a clinical capacity. She is thrilled to see how Osteopathy has grown in Central Florida from being the first Board certified physician in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in Orlando

She integrates her diagnostic skills and experience as well as uses her hands to examine and listen to your body. She combines many modalities to help you heal into your best potential. Dr. Rampil has decades of experience examining and treating patients in addition to teaching young physicians and colleagues here and around the world.

Dr. Rampil works with you as you invest in your health. How can you be more functional in your life? How can you be stronger as you mature? Working with Dr. Rampil is an investment in your time, nutrition, energy, finances, and activities. You only have this body, mind and soul in this lifetime. We will help you get the most out of where you are today.

How we react to and integrate stress and unexpressed emotions in our bodies has long term effects that can create spasm, pain, stiffness, inflammation, and illness. Opening and balancing your tissues with Osteopathic treatment helps you live in your body. We can all be healthier than we are. This includes patients at the end of their lives and people who are very ill. Even people who have survived extreme trauma can build health and resilience.

Initially, Dr. Rampil will help your body by treating it with Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). This is a gentle hands-on treatment that restores your physiology from the impacts, strains, and compensations from life’s stressors and traumas. She works to assist your body from survival mode to functioning; and if all goes well, to thrive.

Dr. Rampil uses Osteopathic treatment to understand your anatomy and physiology and tap into your body’s innate wisdom, thus helping it to function at its’ best. During some Osteopathic treatments you may feel gentle movements or even big movements. These include Balanced Ligamentous Tension (BLT) for Ligamentous Articular Strains, Fascial Release and Unwinding, Facilitated Positional Release (FPR), Still Technique, Muscle Energy (ME), Functional Techniques, Strain Counter-Strain and many others. Other treatments may be more subtle and are based in Cranial Osteopathy, Biodynamics, Dr. Fulford’s approach and his Vibratory Percussor. Dr. Rampil has developed a way of treating called Indirect Vector Balancing© (IVB) that she uses on patient’s she cannot directly touch. Dr. Rampil will meet the force of the trauma in your body as is best for you at your visit.

Dr. Rampil was fortunate to be mentored by some of the master teachers in the Osteopathic profession and has integrated this wisdom into her practice. Dr. Fulford opened the doors to the energetic aspects of Osteopathy and how to integrate, diagnose and treat the vibratory effects on the body. Stanley Schiowitz, D.O. had a big influence on Dr. Rampil’s approach to the ligamentous structure of the living anatomy and how to see the body as a functional whole. Both Dr. Schiowitz and her father, Dr. Stanley Rampil, a Podiatrist, entrusted an understanding of the mechanics of the feet and gait and how they affect the body. Studying with Dr. Hugh Ettlinger while in residency, integrated the Osteopathic approach to both out-patient and in-patient conditions. Treating extreme cases under his guidance taught her to discern with her hands the diagnostic and treatment nuances needed to assist very ill patient’s physiology. There are numerous other teachers in the Osteopathic cranial field that have influenced Dr. Rampil as well. With their expertise and knowledge being passed down, Dr. Rampil has accumulated a wealth of information and experience to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Office visits, osteopathic treatments and trigger point injections may be covered by your insurance. Regenerative injections like prolotherapy with PRP and serum concentrate, perineural and neural injections are usually not covered by insurances. You will be asked to sign an Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) which acknowledges you understand insurance does not cover the procedure.

Medicare patients: Dr. Rampil decided years ago to “opt-out” of Medicare in order to spend adequate time to diagnose and treat her patients. Often you need multiple issues addressed at a visit. Dr. Rampil looks at the body as a functional unit and the pain or symptoms you are having may be initiated from a different area of the body. This Medicare Opt-out arrangement allows for the time to diagnose and treat you. You will be asked to enter into a formal agreement, as required by Medicare, that the payment for Dr. Rampil’s services are between you and her. Part of that agreement is that services not rendered under Medicare can not be forwarded to your gap insurance. We encourage you to educate yourself on Opting out of Medicare at the following link: Medicare Q&A
Missed Appointments: Consistency in treatment is how you heal. Follow-up appointments must be rescheduled or cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. It will be necessary to charge for missed appointments at the rate of a normal office visit. New patient appointments need 72 hours’ notice for cancellation. PRP procedures need 72 hours’ notice. Please help us serve you better by keeping scheduled appointments. As a courtesy, we try to call patients to remind them the day before their appointment, but it is your responsibility to keep track of your appointments.

Rosen Patients:We have an agreement with the Rosen Medical Group. Co-pay is due at the time of visit.

Standard Payment Policy

We require payment at the time of service unless previous arrangements have been made. New patients reserve their appointment with a 50% down payment that can be refunded in full up to 72 hours prior to the appointment. The remainder of the visit will be charged on the day of your appointment. We will attempt to contact you a week in advance to confirm your appointment. Dr. Rampil sets aside time especially for you. If you cannot make your appointment, we would appreciate notification so other people in need can have that time for their healing. If you and Dr. Rampil decide on additional procedures, devices, braces or supplements you will be charged accordingly.
